摘要: Although bacterial meningitis remains an important cause of childhood morbidity and mortality, the incidence has greatly decreased with advent polysaccharide-protein conjugate vaccines in past 2 decades. Most children cerebrospinal fluid pleocytosis have aseptic rather than meningitis, raising possibility that some patients may be managed as outpatients. In this article, we review changing epidemiology well available clinical decision rules assist clinician distinguishing from pleocytosis.
