摘要: Abstract Ecosystem services from tropical forestry draw increasing attention the public and private sectors. However, decision making of market actors involved in transactions concerning ecosystem is not well known described. The goal this paper to describe preferences for projects that provide services. Preferences were elicited within an explorative questionnaire survey directed Europe, Japan, Latin America, South East Asia USA. Participants represent 71 companies organisations including banks, certifiers, consultants, governmental organizations, industrial associations, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), re-insurance companies. based on a set 12 criteria established previous with same actor groups. In one approach preference elicitation, we applied discriminant analysis assessments performances attractiveness two hypothetical projects. According their performance, labelled “business opportunity” “sustainability”. other was let participants weight directly without given project context. significantly more attractive than This contradicted strongly results direct weighting procedure, where associated “sustainability” received higher weights.
