摘要: This paper presents investigations on the effect of three different stages fiber maturity (unripe, ripe and dried) physical, morphological mechanical properties betel nut husk (Areca catechu) (BNH). Density analysis, optical observation, moisture content water absorption study were carried out to evaluate physical BNH fiber. The length diameter decreased with increase stage from raw ripe, while density increased ripe. Mechanical at determined single-fiber tensile tests where strength, modulus elongation break found varied each maturity. difference in strength raw, dried is attributed structural changes plant cell wall during ripening immature fully stages. Modulus natural also related lignin Water was be highest for lowest observed Highest due lost fruit ripening. lumen larger than that fiber, showed more compacted structure
