摘要: Background Ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) injuries of the elbow can cause significant pain and disability in overhead thrower. Most studies literature have focused on baseball players demonstrated that surgical reconstruction is most reliable way to allow these athletes return their previous level performance. Little known about whether or not necessary for other types elite throwing athletes. We hypothesize professional football quarterbacks with UCL competitive play after nonoperative management. Methods The NFL Injury Surveillance System (NFLISS) was reviewed any from 1994 2008, including type mechanism injury, player demographics, method treatment, time play. Results A total 10 cases were identified starting 1994. Nine treated nonoperatively mean 26.4 days. Conclusion are uncommon quarterbacks. This group be successfully nonoperatively, contrast players, who more commonly need difference between 2 groups likely secondary biomechanics demand.
