摘要: Plant phytochemicals are described as possessing considerable neuroprotective properties, due to radical scavenging capacity and acetylcholinesterase inhibitory activity, important bioactivities in neurodegeneration. Antirrhinum lopesianum is a rare endemism from the Iberian Peninsula, occurring at northeastern border between Portugal Spain. It classified Endangered, its highly fragmented geographical occupation, facing high risk of extinction Portuguese territory, within 20 years. Here, we describe for first time chemical characterization extracts species concerning total phenol content, flavonoid content antioxidant properties. The profile performance liquid chromatography with diode array detector (HPLC-DAD) polyphenol-enriched fraction plant was also performed, showing great potential source bioactive phytochemical compounds. A. lopesianum’s neuroprotection revealed by significant activity effect on human cell model Moreover, this report describing successful procedure vitro propagation endangered species. comparison phenolic HPLC-DAD wild propagated plants that maintain ability produce secondary metabolites, but profiles differentially affected growth regulators. results presented here greatly contribute value regarding prospective health benefits.
