摘要: The giant Puguang gas field, with a proven original in-place volume of 350 109 m3 (12.36 TCFG), was discovered in 2003 the eastern Sichuan fold-thrust belt mature Basin, southwest China. field is combination structural-stratigraphic trap closed by lateral depositional change and fault closure. evolved from paleo-oil reservoir originating Triassic–Jurassic. entrapment thermal gas, which derived Lower–middle Silurian Permian source rocks, occurred during deep burial Jurassic–Cretaceous. Tertiary–Quaternary compression transformed paleotrap into present reservoir. Gas contained Lower Triassic Feixianguan Upper Changxing reservoirs, consist predominantly dolomitized oolites deposited shelf platform-margin shoal backreef environments. Reservoir quality characterized porosity 1–29% permeability 0.01–9664 md, buried depth greater than 5000 m (16,400 ft). discovery exemplifies successful application new play concept technology basin. resulted shift exploration strategy structures to stratigraphic traps reef dolomites benefited advanced high-resolution seismic techniques. will not only broaden scope but also provide an excellent analog for other belts worldwide.
