摘要: Abstract This paper describes a method for adjusting biomechanics platform measures of sway loss balance. Area and velocity were determined in forty-seven elderly women, double single leg stance, first with their eyes open, then closed. Subjects rarely able to complete 10 s trials during stances. Therefore, was developed eliminating data associated Monitoring changes vertical force by computer, those points exceeding trial specific thresholds balance truncated. In stances, increased area 0–3%, but did not effect measures. contrast, the experienced most subjects stance exaggerated 16–38%, up 10%. stances correlations between unadjusted adjusted ranged from 0.98 1.00. 0.69 0.89. The 1.00 0.93 respectively. Although question which measure is best remains unanswered, this study provides useful future research. First, it demonstrates modifying representations center pressure excursions effects Second, quantifies different stances; population studied are minimal may be substantial when measured
