摘要: Abstract Traffic turning movement counts at roundabouts is one of the key inputs required for roundabout assessment, control and management. Traditionally, a direct counting conducted to track vehicle from entering through circulation until exiting. This may be difficult costly due size roundabout, vision obstacles, continuous traffic flow. Many researchers tried avoid tracking problem by only entries exits, then estimating movements based on historical data which unfortunately affect results. Other reduced some in addition calculating mathematically remaining movements. approach practical accurate; however, it was applied limited cases. In this paper, generalized mathematical model developed calculate most easiest determined monitoring area. The can used movements, including u-turns, with any number legs. presented O–D matrix forms user-friendly. validated against reference count results were found satisfactory.
