摘要: A needs assessment was performed for nondestructive testing and materials characterization to achieve improved reliability in ceramic heat engine applications. Raw materials, green state bodies, sintered ceramics were considered. The overall approach taken improve of structural requires key inspections throughout the fabrication flowsheet, including raw greed state, dense parts. applications inspection techniques powders other ceramics, are discussed. current technology is reviewed all identified attributes stages a generalized flowsheet advanced research development requirements listed priority order. 164 refs., 3 figs.
