摘要: People benefit from tightly integrated systems that can be designed, realized and evolved affordably. Unfortunately, common software design methods do not easily accommodate requirements for systems. Indeed, when used to meet such requirements, tend yield unnecessarily complex structures complicate realization inhibit subsequent evolution. After substantiating this claim, I present the mediator method as a solution. This combines behavioral entity-relationship (ER) modeling with approach implementation. The is better than designing, realizing, evolving many support claim both by rational argument simplifying models carefully reflecting on development experiences in which was used. One of these efforts led Prism, system plan radiation treatments cancer patients, now clinical use at University Washington Cancer Center. Prism case study method. represents contribution significant value because it allows ordinary developers design, realize, evolve more effective affordably--with programming languages without costly or restrictive new mechanisms.
