摘要: The infra-red absorption bands arising from the structural hydroxyl groups of a number dioctahedral and trioctahedral layer silicates are reported with grating resolution in 3750–3500 cm−1 region. frequency differences orientation behaviour these discussed terms known structures minerals. effect deviation hexagonal symmetry shown by tetrahedral layers minerals on their vibrations is theoretically analyzed, to account for some principal between spectra 1300 400 Comparison random oriented specimens this region permits an assignment particular vibrational modes crystal lattice, reveals surprising corresponding frequencies related structures. Effects Al-for-Si substitution lattice both reported. A striking particle size appearance position stronger kaolin direction dipole moment change associated vibrations. Minerals examined include pyrophyllite, beidellite, rectorite, muscovite, margarite, montmorillonite, nontronite, celadonite, lepidolite kaolins series, talc, hectorite, saponite, phlogopite biotite series.
