摘要: A lectin (ACL) was purified from the seeds of Amaranthus cruentus using affinity chromatography on fetuin-agarose. Apparent homogeneity demonstrated by SDS-PAGE, Sephadex G100 and immunoprecipitation. The a dimer with an estimated molecular weight 66,000 subunit 35,000. ACL-mediated agglutination inhibited D-GalNAc fetuin. Thirty other carbohydrates were non-hibitory. ACL contained 2.2% neutral carbohydrate relatively high levels aspartic acid, glutamic serine glycine. heat labile retaining approximately 10% its original activity (titer) after 5 min at 70°C just 1 100°C.
