A laughing matter: Patterns of laughter and the effectiveness of working dyads

摘要: Poor communication in teams has been found to result disappointing team performance. Integrating research on and laughter, we tested hypotheses about the relationship between working dyads’ patterns of laughter their open effectiveness. We examined two laughter: shared occurs when both individuals laugh frequently a dyad, unshared one individual dyad laughs frequently, but other does not. Using data collected from 93 flight simulations aviation courses, that dyads engage more are effective member In addition, agreeableness reduces effectiveness by increasing likelihood laughter. These results highlight important role interactions expand growing literature emotions teams.
