摘要: Abstract Background Given that hypomagnesemia is related with hyperglycemia, hypertension, hypertriglyceridemia, and insulin resistance, the objective of this study was to determine whether serum magnesium levels are associated metabolically obese normal weight (MONW) healthy (MHO) phenotypes. Methods Population-based cross-sectional enrolled 427 subjects, men non-pregnant women aged 20 65 years, participate in study. Subjects were allocated into groups without obesity; among non-obese individuals, subgroup MONW subjects compared a control group normal-weight individuals. Among MHO who exhibited at least one metabolic abnormality. In absence obesity, presence fasting and/or hypertension defined phenotype. resistance abnormalities glucose triglycerides levels, phenotypically as Results The sex-adjusted prevalence phenotypes 40.8% 27.9%. multivariate logistic regression model adjusted by family history diabetes, age, body mass index, waist-circumference, showed positive association between phenotype (OR 6.4; 95%CI 2.3–20.4) negative relationship 0.32; 0.17–0.61). Conclusions Our results show positively phenotype, normomagnesemia negatively
