摘要: Complete cytochrome b gene sequences from all but one species of delphinid plus four outgroups were analyzed using parsimony, maximum likelihood, and neighbor-joining methods. The results indicate the need for systematic revision family; a provisional classification is presented compared to previous studies. Among suggested revisions are removal Orcinus Globicephalinae, placement Grampus within Lagenorhynchus spp. Delphininae, Sousa in Delphininae. genus found be polyphyletic. L. albirostris (type genus) acutus not closely related each other or nominal congeners. therefore assigned Leucopleurus. remaining Lissodelphis Cephalorbynchus placed Sagmatias. These three genera constitute revised Lissodelphininae. Within well-supported clade includes two Delphinus, Stenella clymene, S. frontalis, coeruleoalba, aduncus form Tursiops truncatus. Accepting monophyly this group renders Apart finding, phylogenetic resolution Delphininae was poor, so comprehensive taxonomic awaits further study.
