摘要: Female genital cosmetic surgery (FGCS) refers to a group of procedures designed alter the aesthetics or ‘function’ women’s anatomy. This article analyzes biopolitics FGCS, opening up for discussion relationship between and vaginas. I theorize FGCS in terms how these discipline individual bodies, demarcate regulate population defined by its vulval aesthetics, ultimately create optimal, ‘biopolitical vagina’. suggest that surgeries signify contemporary (re)deployment biopower aimed at making vagina more useful – move from vaginal exception exceptional vagina.
