摘要: We analyze how the optimal spatial budget distribution for protecting ecosystem services under two extreme market conditions results in different ecological–economic tradeoffs balance between conservation and sustainable development. As a case study, we develop an empirical framework budget given objectives of maximizing forest carbon storage total value added Central Southern Appalachian Region. consistently find concave efficient frontiers differences 2006 2011 intra- inter-generational sustainability. The former confirms previous findings tradeoff relationship, while latter new finding suggests that balancing weights with preferences decision makers can be effectively done depending on conditions. For example, if agency considers increasing weight either value-added or storage, should consider sacrifice other objective required by decision, which changes across also may want to negative consequences equity rural urban areas value-added, regardless condition.
