J-aggregation of N-sulfobutyl oxacarbocyanine in binary mixtures of organic solvents

摘要: Abstract N -sulfobutyl oxacarbocyanine in binary mixtures of dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) as a polar solvent (0.15–2 vol.%) and four less solvents, such dioxane, toluene, trichloroethylene tetrahydrofuran forms J-aggregates. Along with J-aggregates cyanine dyes form H-aggregates the mixture DMSO trichloroethylene. In dioxane are formed from monomers reaction proceeds time. The relative yield maximum rate formation depend on content both equal to zero at 5% DMSO. characterized by resonance fluorescence. For DMSO/trichloroethylene initially an H-aggregate is which transformed via monomer into J-aggregate. results obtained rationalized terms solvophobic effect.
