摘要: This dissertation explores four narrative texts written about AIDS/HIV and evaluates each one by applying Kenneth Burke’s redemption drama, consisting of guilt, purification, redemption. The methodology is a close textual analysis using rhetorical as way to highlight the use drama in language. first chapter history makes argument for approach. second briefly highlights plot narratives provides background information context book. third applies concept guilt all narratives. fourth uses breaking it down into mortification victimage. Chapter five explains protagonist reader has found six concludes research offers limits possible areas future study. shows that with illnesses carry stigma, like HIV/AIDS, those ill often feel need defend themselves their mode infection others. Using an analyst can study language show how these individuals medical status others, this allows them redefine both ailments.
