摘要: Natural environments are assailed on every side through the unprecedentedly rapid expansion of human activities. In absence conservation responses a scope and scale to match challenge, we shall shortly witness widespread degradation destruction many wildlands their biotas. Fortunately still have time, though only just slow stem biotic holocaust overtaking biosphere. But traditional measures, notably in form protected areas, becoming ever-more limited capacity resist. While need more areas — better too find there is much positive payoff tackling tide environmentally impoverishing activities, principally initiatives directed at sustainable development all communities, both non-human.
