摘要: The Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality requires that the Dutch population European hamster is surveyed each year. This consists a census inhabited burrows in various known habitats patches. present only southern part province Limburg has preference for arable farmland where cereals or alfalfa are grown. In 2002 was reintroduced into areas with specially adapted cropland management regime. recent years attempts have been made to find new forms friendly land practices which can be easily integrated farm cheaper carry out. area suitable habitat currently more than 700 hectares. Monitoring by means burrow counts tagged animals shows practice hamsters struggle survive long enough produce sufficient litters enable grow. latest censuses indicate there fewer 200 spread over approx. 20 kilometre grids. therefore still critically endangered restocking remains necessary.
