摘要: Resurfacing arthroplasty was first practiced as early the 1950s a treatment for arthritis of hip. Unfortunately, resurfacing arthroplasties were associated with high failure rate. Avascular necrosis femoral head (AVN) thought to play major role in these failures. It later became evident that problems due polyethylene wear particle—induced osteolysis [1,2]. As result failures, and concerns they raised about vascularity head, hip fell out favor.
