摘要: A technique was developed for the measurement of soluble atmospheric carbonyl compounds, which uses a pyrex coil gas-liquid scrubber sampler in conjunction with high-performance liquid chromatograph equipped UV-visible detector separation and identification following derivatization 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine. Carbonyls exhibiting Henry's law solubility similar to or greater than that formaldehyde (FA) can be determined by this method; these include FA, glycolaldehyde (GA), glyoxal (GL), methylglyoxal (MG). Based on standards field-developed chromatographic characteristics, limits detection are about 0.005 ppb (in gas phase) MG, 0.01 GL, 0.02 FA GA. Because short air-liquid contact time (smaller 10 s), interferences from aqueous-phase reactions ozone insignificant. Also, at low pH scrubbing solution, interference resulting carbonyls S(IV) is unimportant. 43 refs., 7 figs., 3 tabs.
