摘要: Abstract In the present study, different adsorbents were prepared: activated carbon (AC), MgO and ZnO nanoparticles, composite of AC/MgO/ZnO. The AC was prepared from oak charcoals, as low-cost abundantly available materials in Iran, by chemical activation. nanoparticles synthesized using a sol–gel method. characterized Powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), Field Emission-Scanning Electron Microscope (FESEM), Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS). Then, adsorption behavior tested for removal atrazine (ATZ) herbicide model organic micro-pollutant. average crystallite size calculated their XRD data Scherrer equation. results showed that had nano scale, which supported FESEM images. experimental pH solution no considerable effect on ATZ herbicide. obtained AC/MgO/ZnO fitted to nonlinear pseudo first-order, pseudo-second order, general order kinetic models. provided best fit compared with other isotherm these two at temperatures well Langmuir Liu models, but followed most precisely, based lowest SD value this model. study indicate chemically has excellent adsorptive capacity can be used an effective adsorbent aqueous solutions. However, exhibited low could not suitable pollutant.
