摘要: A faunal sUlVeywas conducted to find possible biological control agents for Parlhenium hysterophorus L. (Asteraceae),a serious annual weed in many parts of the world, particularly Queensland, Australia, and India. Between 1977 1991, most plant's native range North Americawas sulVeyedfrom bases at Monterrey Cuernavaca, Mexico, Temple, TX. Two hundred sixty-twophytophagous arthropod species were collected on P. by various methods including hand picking, dissection, rearing, sweep- ing; 144 these found feed plant some stage their life cycle. The orders represented abundantly Coleoptera (33.2%), Homoptera (22.9%), Lep- idoptera (20.2%), Hemiptera (18.3%). Twofungal pathogens, Puccinia abrupta Dietel Holwayvariety partheniicola (Jackson)Parmelee Pucciniamelampodii Di'eteland Holway, also obselVed. An index similarity was used make pairwise comparisons between phytophagous communities different taxa. These showed that fauna is similar ragweeds (Ambrosia spp.). Six insect shown be stenophagouswere shipped Australiafor further testing field release. One fungal pathogens underwent host-range United Kingdom released Australia.
