摘要: Abstract A simple, linear, two-dimensional, f-plane model of coastal upwelling in a continuously stratified ocean is investigated. The transient response the fluid to an impulsively applied alongshore wind stress, nature approach steady state, and final state flow are studied. Particular attention given here examination, case, interrelation phenomenon baroclinic jet. jet feature which has appeared studies two-layer models near coast. stratification parameter S = (δN/f)2, where δ II/L aspect ratio, H depth, L characteristic horizontal scale, N Brunt-Vaisala frequency, f Coriolis parameter, assumed lie range O(Ev½)
