摘要: Abstract Aim While the scientific evidence in favour of negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) dressings on sutured incisions prevention surgical site infections (SSIs) has increased, cost-effectiveness after vascular surgery not been evaluated. The aim this study was to evaluate NPWT compared standard for SSIs open inguinal surgery. Materials and methods Patient data were retrieved from randomised INVIPS-trial's arm, which included patients either or dressings. surveyed 90 days postoperatively. patients' individual cost analysed a healthcare perspective. quality life measured using Vascuqol-6 questionnaire pre- 30 Cost-effectiveness determined by decreased equal total costs significant reduction SSI incidence. Results : mean procedure-related at €16,621 treated with (n = 59) €16,285 (n = 60), p = 0.85. incidence 11.9% (n = 7/59) 30.0% (n = 18/60) dressings, p = 0.015. This corresponds an increased €1,853 per avoided. plane incremental difference score showed that 42% estimates quadrant where dominant. Conclusion: is considered cost-effective over undergoing due reduced no higher costs.
