摘要: In most higher plants, sterols are present as a mixture of Δ5-sterols. Sitosterol, stigmasterol and 24-methylcholesterol usually cited the typical plant (Fig.l). These concentrated mainly in plasma membrane (PM) (1). Using sterol biosynthesis inhibitors, we have shown that it is possible to obtain cell suspensions or whole plants with completely modified profile (2,3). Such constitute suitable material for studying structural functional roles sterols, which still largely unknown.
