摘要: Nurses' ability to practice is constantly challenged by changes in equipment, staffing, acuity, time constraints, and requirements of regulatory agencies. This article highlights an innovative approach validate competency registered nurses a 380-bed hospital the Midwest. Confronted with increasing demands on high-priority issues, as well areas high risk, educators developed plan verify using observed performance format. Although specific was pain management, this prototype can be used for validation other high-risk or high-profile competencies.
