摘要: Abstract A holistic evaluation of a country's hazardous waste management (HWM) practices is useful in identifying the necessary actions to focus on. Based on an analysis industrial (HW) generation Turkey, this paper attempts critically evaluate and report current Turkish HWM discuss primary challenges be addressed. The HW for Turkey reported 2004 was 1.195 million tons, which accounted 7% total solid (ISW) generated by manufacturing industry, nearly 4.9% country. top five product categories – basic metals, chemicals chemical products, food beverages, coke refined petroleum, motor vehicles trailers 89.0% HW. 21% recycled or reused, 6% sold donated, whereas 73% sent ultimate disposal. 67% disposal disposed at municipal landfills. capacity existing regional facilities 212,500 tons/year, accounts about 24% disposed. has identified problem country enacted legislation, designated lead agency, promulgated rules regulations. Several new initiatives are planned improving nationally; however, some problems will persistent due previous development plans. These policies led concentration industry regions marked precious agricultural fields high population density. This occurred because government previously exhibited default prioritization towards development, leading insufficient implementation regulations generators. Some may also rooted other countries that allow illegal transboundary movements despite international
