Effects of toxic cyanobacteria and purified toxins on the survival and feeding of a copepod and three species of Daphnia

摘要: Acute toxicity experiments with purified toxins show that four species of zooplankton differ markedly in their physiological sensitivity to cyclic peptide hepatotoxins from Microcystis ueruginosu (microcystin-LR1 and Noduluria spumigenu (nodularin). The copepod Diaptomus birgei was most sensitive (48-h LC,, for microcystin-LR ranged 0.45 1.00 pg ml-l), Daphnia pulicuriu least LCsO, 21.4 hyulinu L& 11.6 ml- *) D ap niu pulex LC&,, 9.6 ml-l) were intermediate sensitivity. h Survivorship the presence toxic strongly infiuenced by both feeding behavior.
