摘要: A study was performed of the transesterification reaction used frying oil by means methanol, using sodium hydroxide, potassium methoxide, and methoxide as catalysts. The objective work to characterize methyl esters for use biodiesels in compression ignition motors. operation variables were methanol/oil molar ratio (3:1−9:1), catalyst concentration (0.1−1.5 wt %), temperature (25−65 °C), type. Also, experiments two stages reaction, with separation glycerol first stage, carried out. evolution process followed gas chromatography, determining at different times. biodiesel characterized its density, viscosity, high heating value, cetane index, cloud pour points, characteristics distillation, flash combustion saponification iodine value according ISO norms. best properties obtain...
