Vitamin C and the Common Cold: A Second MZ Cotwin Control Study

摘要: Self-reported cold data have been analyzed for 95 pairs of identical twins aged 14-64 who took part in a double-blind trial vitamin C tablets. One member each twin pair tablet containing 1 g and the other well-matched placebo day 100 days. In total sample there was no effect preventing colds. However, subdivision showed significant preventive 51 living together an equal opposite 44 apart. The may be attributed to large proportion wrongly perceived which treatment they were taking. reduction colds group apart about 20%. There correlations between symptoms reported personality trait neuroticism. No side effects substantive changes serum biochemistry could dose.
