摘要: Abstract The accelerated formation of bainite in presence martensite is opening a new processing window for the steel industry. However, feasible industrial implementation, it necessary to determine mechanical behaviour steels developed under such conditions. This study focuses on analysing effects athermal martensite, followed by bainitic ferrite, response low-C high-Si steel. For this purpose, microhardness measurements and tensile tests have been performed specimens that were thermally treated either above or below martensite-start temperature (Ms). Specimens isothermally Ms exhibit good combination properties, comparable with heat conventional treatments Ms, where there was no prior martensite. Investigations show an increase yield stress decrease ultimate strength as isothermal holding decreased Ms. its tempering during leads strengthening at expense slightly decreasing their strain hardening capacity.
