摘要: Wear is a common cause for aseptic loosening in artificial joints. The purpose of this study was to develop an automated diagnostical method identification the number and size distribution wear debris. For purpose, metal debris samples were extracted from hip simulator then analyzed by electrospray combined with differential mobility analyzer, allowing particle detection ranging several nanometers up 1 µm. particles identified characteristic peak at 15 nm. setup successfully used validated first time characterize simulated total joint replacement. advantages diagnostic are its time- financial efficiency suitability testing different materials.
