摘要: I describe the anterior part of externally poorly preserved skull a therocephalian from Karoo Basin in South Af− rica, using method serial grinding. The is incomplete, and its estimated length life 130 mm. can be assigned to Akidnognathidae with some confidence. stratigraphic age specimen locality are not known, but surrounding sediment suggests that it may Upper Permian Dicynodon Assemblage Zone. It has five or six postcanine teeth, developed crista choanalis. sinuses canals snout recog− nized, believed sinus positioned posteriorly (posterior maxillary sinus) homologous anomodonts cynodonts. also shows similarities infraorbital canal early mammals, such as Morganucodon. An anteriorly (anterior sinus), situated directly behind canine root, homologized gorgonopsians. In addition, identify previously undescribed (desig− nated canal), leading antero−dorsally. No evidence for maxillo− turbinals was found contrast condition known primitive Glanosuchus.
