摘要: This chapter is part one of a review in which the production and application radiation-induced bioradicals discussed. Bioradicals play pivotal role complex chain processes starting with absorption radiation biological materials ending after-effects. The general aspects four consecutive stages (physical, physicochemical, chemical biological) are discussed from an interdisciplinary point view. close relationship between dose track structure, induced DNA damage cell survival or killing treated detail. repair mechanisms that cells employ, to insure stability following irradiation, described. Because their great biomedical importance tumour suppressor genes involved checkpoint activation will be briefly, together molecular genetics radiosensitivity. Part two this deal modern theoretical methods experimental instrumentation for quantitative studies research field. Also extensive overview applications given. A comprehensive list references allows further exploration field, characterised last decade by substantial advance, both fundamental knowledge range applications.
