摘要: Abstract This study was carried out to determine the initial age and time-span of interaction two major crustal provinces Asia: Siberian craton Central Asian Orogenic Belt (CAOB). Single grain U–Pb ages detrital zircon suites from Neoproterozoic passive margin strata were used first appearance extraregional source regions. Twelve clastic rocks Baikal-Patom Siberia one sample volcaniclastic Padrinsky Group that deposited unconformably above accreted CAOB crust analyzed. In total, 1152 grains analyzed, 703 for provenance interpretation. Stratigraphically lower yield Archean – Paleoproterozoic ages, which are similar to, probably derived Precambrian craton. A few extra-regional Mesoproterozoic also present. The shift happens in upper portion section is marked by influx zircons. youngest included zircons (610 Ma) constrain deposition provide evidence timing between this region. dominate overlying sedimentary units CAOB, suggesting continuing convergence. Coeval unit across terrane has a distribution, strengthening links sides orogen. Analysis local tectonics suggests beginning accretion might have started even before zircon: during development regional unconformity, capped 635 Ma (?) “Snowball Earth” tillites Dzhemkukan Formation. absence Formation explained an extremely thickened crust. Our data good agreement with collected other basins southern craton, including Cisbaikalia Bodaibo Synclinorium.
