摘要: This study tested the effectiveness of AutoSet self-titrating nasal continuous positive airway pressure (nCPAP) system in treating obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), and choosing a suitable for subsequent conventional fixed-pressure nCPAP therapy. Twenty-one adult men with untreated OSA were studied full polysomnography on each four nights: diagnostic, manual titration (in random order), at recommended by titration. Titration was satisfactorily performed 20 21 subjects. Severe mask leak prevented automated one subject caused transient unnecessary increases three In subjects, respiratory disturbance index (RDI) 60.3 +/- 5.7 events/h (mean SEM) diagnostic night. RDI lower (10.1 3.0, p < 0.001), still Autoset (2.8 0.9, 0.01) fixed (2.5 0.7, = ns versus AutoSet) nCPAP. There similar changes arousal index, which 52.7 4.6 night, 14.2 2.4 8.9 0.9 titration, 9.5 1.0 night CPAP (p 0.001 diagnostic). We conclude that is
