Genetic determinants of bone mineral content at the spine and radius: a twin study.

摘要: The possible role of genetic and/or environmental factors in determining bone mass has been investigated 30 pairs twins (16 monozygotic and 14 dizygotic) divided two age groups (below above 25 years age). Bone mineral content was evaluated by single- dual photon absorptiometry at the distol third radius for peripheral cortical lumbar spine axial bone. “within pair” variance used as an index influence. A significant (p < 0.01) determinant found adults spinal group younger than years. heritability h2 0.75 BMC 0.88 BMC. Such a could not conclusively be demonstrated adult youngsters bone, suggesting that may play more dominant growth during adolescence diminution life.
