摘要: The ability to kneel is one of the many patient goals after total knee arthroplasty (TKA). Few studies have addressed patients' TKA as a primary outcome. Given altered biomechanics TKA, various implant designs, and multiple surgical approaches, there need further understand patient's kneeling TKA. We evaluated available literature on this topic help guide postoperative care recommendations. Biomechanical data show that load borne by patellofemoral joint elevated significantly at all flexion angles, whereas tibiofemoral articulation pressures are only 90 120 degrees flexion. However, these increased rarely prosthetic knees because patients often avoid In who do surgery, range motion promotes improved performance. Targeted interventions encourage including preoperative education, not shown an increase frequency with which Reasons for avoidance multifaceted complex. There no biomechanical or clinical evidence contraindicating insufficient recommend particular designs approaches maximize surgery. Musculoskeletal health providers should continue promote allow achieve maximum benefit
