摘要: Rationale and aims Antibiotic development was a major breakthrough in defeating infections; however, their vast use has led to antimicrobial resistance (AMR) causing mortality, morbidity, financial burden worldwide. Considering the limited introduction of newer antimicrobials overcome patterns, sufficient knowledge can help manage this issue. Antimicrobial stewardship programmes (ASPs) with mainstay education be good resolution. The aim study seek aspects which regarding antibiotics is lacking at our institutions. Materials methods This cross-sectional performed Shiraz, South Iran, designed as knowledge, attitude, practice (KAP) study. A self-administered questionnaire consisting 15 questions handed out health care workers including infectious disease practitioners, surgeons, internal medicine specialists residents, general medical students, microbiology lab technicians PhD graduates. Difference response evaluated between practitioner nonpractitioner groups. Results Completed questionnaires were collected (n = 126). According results, most participants (88.1%) agreed on establishment local guidelines. Majority (94.4%) also believed that reduce AMR. Good patient not impaired by limiting (72.2%). significant difference groups' score observed. Conclusion In study, deficit observed some We conclude more are needed ASP for better performance reducing resistant patterns.
