摘要: This paper reviews what is currently known about the presence of consanguinity and endogamy in Netherlands, past today, concludes with a discussion medical genetic aspects. First geographic characteristics, demographic history, make-up native population, legal aspects public opinion are reviewed. Then data on prevalence population presented for marriages since 1840, followed by consanguineous among immigrants from countries tradition close-kin marriages. It estimated that approximately 1% at-risk couples referred to clinical centres prospective counselling Netherlands. picture will change dramatically if when next-generation sequencing introduced identify at ≥ 25% risk prospectively.
