摘要: Background: Sexual activities during adolescence have been characterized as dynamic and constantly changing, it has an impact on reproductive life of young peoples, which is related to the increased susceptibility HIV transmission, unwanted pregnancy its complications when sexual are unprotected. So, objective this study was identify prevalence early initiation associated factors among Debre Markos University students, North West Ethiopia, 2014. Methods: Institution based cross sectional design conducted 273 university students. Study participants were selected by stratified sampling technique self- administrated questionnaire distributed collect information. EpiData version 3.1 used for data entry SPSS 16 analysis. To with initiation, bivariate multivariate logistic regression 95 % Confidence interval used. Results: From 260 respondents, 116(44.6%) had sex prior collection period, while 144(55.4%) never intercourse. Almost two third (64.7%) respondents start intercourse age range 16-19 years old. The mean standard deviation at first 18.28 2.04 respectively. Factors significantly (< 18 old) were; being female (AOR=5.7, 95%CI=1.16-27.72), lack discussion health issues (SRH) their mother (AOR=, 95%CI= 1.23-41.5) cigarrate smoking (AOR=7, 95%CI=1.06-46.92).
