摘要: The modulation efficiency and bandwidth limitations of a new type light modulator, the attenuated total internal reflection modulator (ATRM), are described. ATRM is based on coupling beam to surface plasmon wave, its fabrication compatible with GaAs integrated circuit technology. We demonstrate 22 GHz (the extrapolated 1.5 dB optical 26 GHz) show that devices high index can be built using existing materials.
