Valerian for insomnia: a systematic review of randomized clinical trials.

摘要: Objective: To systematically review the evidence for effects of herb valerian (Valeriana officinalis) on insomnia, based randomized, placebo-controlled, double-blind trials.Background: Valerian has long been advocated and used promoting sleep but until quite recently was solely anecdotal. However, during last two decades a number clinical trials have conducted.Materials methods: Systematic literature searches were performed to locate measuring effect monopreparations in human participants. Data extracted standardized manner methodological quality assessed by Jadad score.Results: Nine located meeting selection criteria. The findings studies contradictory there great inconsistency between terms patients, experimental design procedures quality.Conclusion: as treatment insomnia is inconclusive. There need rigorous determine its efficacy.
