摘要: As a growing epidemic, type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) has significantly affected the individual's quality of life and economy society. Understanding mechanisms disease discovery new therapeutic options become more urgent than ever before. Mitochondrial alterations (e.g. functional alterations, impaired biogenesis dynamics) are strongly associated with development T2DM. Accumulation reactive oxygen species or intermediates incomplete fatty acid oxidation due to mitochondrial deficiency activates stress kinases dampens insulin signaling. Redox-active compounds such as resveratrol, pyrroloquinoline quinone, hydroxytyrosol can potently counteract species, improve function biogenesis. Therefore, targeting these redox-active may lead preventive for In this article, we review molecular in T2DM, action reverse changes oxidative addition, current challenges future directions discussed prospected.
