摘要: It is known that alcoholic fermentation important for survival of plants under anaerobic conditions. Acetaldehyde, one the intermediates fermentation, not only reduced by alcohol dehydrogenase but also can be oxidized aldehyde (ALDH). To determine whether ALDH plays a role in metabolism rice (Oryza sativa L. cv Nipponbare), we characterized cDNA clone encoding mitochondrial from (Aldh2a). Analysis sub-cellular localization ALDH2a protein using green fluorescent and an vitro assay extracts Escherichia coli cells overexpressed indicated functions oxidation acetaldehyde mitochondria. A Southern-blot analysis encoded at least two genes rice. We found Aldh2a mRNA was present high levels leaves dark-grown seedlings, mature leaf sheaths, panicles. interesting expression gene, unlike tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum) induced seedlings submergence. Experiments with ruthenium red, which blocker Ca2+ fluxes as well maize (Zea mays), suggest induction Adh1 Pdc1 low oxygen stress regulated elevation cytosolic level. However, gene may controlled level elevation. possible involvement submergence tolerance discussed.
