摘要: BACKGROUND Up-regulation of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs), vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), and transforming (TGF) beta, may contribute to the formation nasal polyps (NPs). Rhinovirus (RV) infection enhances expression MMP-2, MMP-9, VEGF in NP fibroblasts TGF-beta respiratory epithelial cells. We investigated inhibitory effects levocetirizine (LCT) on RV-induced (1) fibrogenic (MMPs TGF-beta) (2) angiogenic (VEGF factors fibroblasts. METHODS obtained from 11 male patients with chronic rhinosinusitis NPs (CRSwNPs), were infected RV serotype 16 (RV-16) for 4 hours. Cells treated 50 nM LCT 24 hours before 48 thereafter. Expression VEGF, TGF-β mRNA protein determined by real-time polymerase chain reaction enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays, respectively. RESULTS significantly inhibited increases mRNA, expression, (p < 0.05 each comparison). CONCLUSION inhibits up-regulation fibroblasts, suggesting that prevent CRSwNP caused infection.
