摘要: The climate mitigation potential of using logging residues (tree tops and branches) for bioenergy has been debated. In this study, a time-dependent life cycle assessment (LCA) was performed single-stand perspective. Three forest stands located in different Swedish zones were studied order to assess the global temperature change when producing district heating. These systems compared with two fossil reference which assumed remain decompose over time, while coal or natural gas used energy. results showed that replacing gave direct benefit from perspective, delayed around 8-12 years depending on zone. A sensitivity analysis time strongly dependent assumptions extraction combustion gas. LCA harvesting south Sweden would give highest per energy unit. However, differences between three unit relatively small. On hectare basis, southern stand generate more biomass central northern locations, thereby could replace fuel larger benefits.
